Recently, a customer contacted us with a baking question. She was preparing for a picnic and was eager to bake our classic sugar cookie (see July 9 post). But she wanted to upgrade it by making sandwich cookies with different flavored layers (see Aug. 6 post). The result? Beautiful, tender cookies bursting with creamy, buttery flavor.
Here’s what she did:
She divided the dough in two and flavored one half with cocoa powder, creating a distinction between the two layers of the cookie.
She cut out flower shapes, with the top flowers being smaller than the bottom flowers for further distinction between the two layers.
She added some shimmer and crunch with a sprinkle of coarse sugar on top.
Way to go!
